Client Support Specialist (Respite)

The CSS will have the exciting opportunity to help advance the mission of NextGen Health Services Inc. by providing safe and nurturing care, both in the client’s home and in a respite approved facility. This care may include assistance with activities of daily living, behavior management, and skill development. This position will allow for the opportunity to develop on-going relationships with individuals in their homes and in the community as they work toward goals and skills for independent living. It will also allow for exciting time with multiple individuals and colleagues through the provision of congregate respite care at a respite approved facility.
 

Minimum qualifications

  • Experience or Interest working with people with disabilities or other behavioral issues required and demonstrated ability in providing support in a respectful manner that meets the various needs of individuals served. 

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Comfortable with adults with disability and a desire to interact with them based on a wide variety of ability levels

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Must have an ability to represent NextGen Health Services Inc. well in the home environment of the individual being served and in the community. 

  • Must be able to work independently. 

  • Must have an ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and patience to deal with individual requiring complex care.   

  • Commitment to understanding individual developmental, physical, and/or emotional limitations. 

  • Creativity to ensure a positive environment and outcomes for all individual and flexibility in constantly changing circumstances. 

  • An ability to establish trust with individual with many different learning and communication styles. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of client record

Physical qualifications

Flexible schedule will be required due to varying hours. Must be able to stand/walk 50% of work time, sit and/or drive 50%. Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 40 pounds. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. All of these requirements are necessary in order to supervise and assist individuals with disabilities.

Note: This position may require use of your personal vehicle to transport persons served when and if agency's vehicle is unavailable. All NextGen Health Services Inc. transportation policies must be followed while transporting for or on the behalf of NextGen Health Services Inc. NextGen Health Services Inc. will reimburse for mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.
